Hong Kong Disneyland Day 2 - 5th Anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland

Welcome to Day 2 of our Disneyland trip. If you've missed part 1, click here to read that post!

With all the shows we watched on Day 1, we dedicated this day to explore the park. We did however watch one particular show but I'll come to that later.

As we were walking into Disneyland, we saw Mickey and Minnie under a pavilion. We did what anyone would do, we took pictures with them!

We then had lunch at the Starliner Diner located in Tomorrowland. Starliner Diner is a space-themed restaurant that serves American style fast food like fried chicken and burgers. I remember carrying my son and placing my order and when my tray of food was ready, the staff insisted that they bring my food to the table. I thought that was incredibly nice of them and Singapore food outlets should show the same initiative.

Just as we were leaving the restaurant, I spotted Buzz Lightyear walking about! I thought I was excited but my son was screaming his head off. “DADDY LOOK!!!! BUZZ DADDY LOOOOOK!!!!”.

It's Buzz Lightyear!

In the name of Buzz Lightyear, we took the AstroBlasters ride!

Are you wondering why there aren't any pictures of us doing the adult rides? Well...erm...I don't do rollercoasters, rides that fly you around, up and down. Don't ask why. I just don't!

Moving on...it was pouring when we got out of the Buzz Lightyear AstroBlasters ride.

Being the gentleman that I am, I let my wife collect our stroller in the pouring rain. Hahahaha!

Thankfully, the rain subsided a little after half an hour or so and I got to watch this awesome show. I love love love Lion King so Festival of the Lion King was a must see! And boy was it good. In fact, Festival of the Lion King gets my vote as the best show in Hong Kong Disneyland!!! The props were spectacular and the cast were amazing.

Waiting for the show to start in the theater…

Can you spot the giraffe and elephant?

There’s Timon and Pumbaa

The life size elephant!

And there’s Mufasa!

On the way out from Adventureland, we stumbled upon this!!!

Yup! Finn McMissile from Cars 2!!!

Here's Holley Shiftwell...

Besides Finn & Holley, we met two Disney princesses as well…

Snow White and Prince Charming…

Rapunzel with her looooong hair…

Well with the gloomy weather, we ended our 2nd full-filled day at 7pm. Look out for Day 3 coming your way soon!

  1. Is the food good in Disneyland? Did some research on the web, what I read most is it's mainly Hong Kong food that is in eateries. While my family does not mind the occasional Chinese takeout, everyday for five days doesn't sound thrilling. We've got little ones that are not used to this type of food too,
