Pub Brawls

The New Paper has been running articles on the recent fights at pubs and clubs. It’s about time don’t you think? If you’re a clubber, you’ll know that it happens all the damn time. Everywhere you fuckin go, there is a fight that is waiting to erupt. All it takes is a simple stare.

As a drinker myself, I’ve seen a good number of fights. MOST of which, we weren’t a part of. Let’s put it this way, when a person drinks, he or she loses control of their senses. So, some end up in someone else’s bed, some end up smoking a joint and some get into brawls.

We’ve all seen catfights at MS. It’s such a common sight that it’ll be weird if it didn’t happen. It’s good to see the authorities stepping in and clearing MS of its problems. Gone are the trouble joints and in are the chill out lounges. That’s the way to go!

This is how I see things. Which is a fuckin fact if you ask around. If you have a club that serves cheap booze and you cater to the youths, you’ll get fights. if you ask me, a whole lot of fights. Clubs with dress codes and higher priced booze don’t see many fights. Most scuffles in these clubs would be the case of ang mohs misbehaving.

I choose not to drink at certain places. Boat Quay and MS are just two of the places on my list? It’s just not worth my fucking time. A guy like myself with the extra ordinary numbers of tattoos, gets way too much attention.

Close friends will recall a morning in 2005 that saw yours truly at a certain local hospital. Everything happens for a reason. You don’t just get whacked for nothing. In this case, I got whacked for nothing. All thanks to a friend that asked the wrong question on a wrong night at the wrong place. Also thanks to a couple of so called friends that didn’t have the fucking balls to fight back. So yeah, being someone whom wasn’t involved sucked big time!

What I’m trying to say is that we people have to start controlling themselves. This includes yours truly. I truly feel that the bigger and better man will walk away.
