Feeling Cheery in Poonsiri Resort Aonang
If you're looking for accommodation in Krabi, be sure to check out Poonsiri Resort in Ao Nang. Noel and I spent 4 nights there and it was splendid. We would definitely stay there again! It's only about 30 minutes away from Krabi Airport and about 10 minutes away from the beach via tuk-tuk or taxi.
The first thing you'll notice when you arrive at Poonsiri is the spectacular mountain backdrop and gorgeous lagoons. It honestly felt so peaceful and serene because we were pretty far away from the main city and town. We spotted an adorable family of cats sleeping in the garden and it made us miss ours!
When we first checked in, we were starving so we decided to have a late lunch at the cafe. The food and drinks were reasonably priced and everything tasted really good! Later that night we were too comfortable to go anywhere so we ordered room service and those dishes were amazing as well.
The lovely villa we had was super cozy and Noel informed the staff that we were on our honeymoon prior to our arrival so they dressed up the bed with cute little flowers and swans!
The balcony was right on the water and we could see and feed the fish that would swim right up to us. They had kayaks you could use out on the lagoon during the day and a huge swimming pool too but we didn't get round to doing any of that. We were pretty caught up with sightseeing activities so we didn't have the energy to kayak or swim as much as we would have liked to.

Poonsiri also provides a free shuttle service to the nearest convenience store and Krabi town. Noel and I took the afternoon shuttle to the beach and grabbed the last one at 9.30 after one too many drinks (read about that here)
The day before we checked out, we decided to have a massage and the nearest place was just a 3-5 minute walk from the resort. It was a quaint family-run operation and they didn't try to haggle or charge us an exorbitant rate. The 90 minute aromatherapy massage we chose was just what we needed after all the walking and exploring we had done the day before. They even served us some sweet tea when we were done.
Our stay at Poonsiri was nothing but amazing and we would highly recommend it to anyone heading to Krabi for a short getaway! It's an affordable choice with stunning views, helpful staff and delicious food.
