Vivian Balakrishnan for Prime Minister?
Hey all, the tattooed blogger is back! For a day that is. Man, it sure has been a busy week. I'm not just talking about my annual in-camp training (ICT) with the army. It's been a busy week around the globe too! More on that later...
As much as I would love to blog about my reservist training, MINDEF has reminded us that WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BLOG ABOUT OUR ICT. With that said, the ICT has been fun thus far. I'll be back in camp later in the evening and I won't be around till Thursday. Total bummer!
I woke up to good news this morning. My mom texted to say that the Bali bombers have finally been executed. I dunno about you but I've never been happier to hear about a person's death. Though I do wish they suffered a more cruel death. A slow and painful death would be more appropriate don't cha think?! Anyhow, those bastards are dead and yours truly is rejoicing. I say...bring on the damn beers!!!
Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new president. Yes siree! We were in camp when Obama won the election. I received at least 15 text messages informing me of the landslide victory. I urge anyone who doesn't dig Obama to listen to his victory speech. I watched it on Yahoo! Video and if you can't already tell, this man is special. He captivates you when he talks and he instills belief in all who listens. Cheers to Barack Obama and Joe Biden. It's a change the USA and the world needed. Amen!
Singapore is ready for a colored Prime Minister too. Dr Vivian Balakrishnan would make an awesome Prime Minister. He speaks and dresses well and I really like this dude. He's half Indian half Chinese. He's got four kids and he married a lovely Chinese lady who happens to be the head of Girl Guides Singapore. I say for Prime Minister! Vivian! Vivian! Vivian!!!
Fun fact: Did you know that our Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is the highest paid head of government in the world. PM Lee earns an annual salary of S$3,870,000 (US$ 2,856,930) while the President of the United States earns an annual salary of US$400,000.
It ain't all about money right? Nooooooooooooooooo!!! I wanna become a Minister in Singapore. I wouldn't mind a third of PM Lee's salary. Who wouldn't right?
Alright folks, I'm gonna wrap up this post. There's lots to do today. For starters, I'm gonna spend some quality time with Ann and Dray. Have a good Sunday and I'll post again on Thursday. God bless and love to all!
