My Pledge

Once a year, a special movement called the Singapore Family Pledge Movement is celebrated. It's all about making that special pledge (or promise if you want to call it that), to spend time with your family. Fact is, most of us are either always busy with work or our personal lives. So much so, the people that we are supposed to love most, do get neglected! Come on, it's the truth ain't it?!

Well folks, I pledge to spend the 29th of May with my family. We'll do a whole bunch of stuff that will last the entire day. Probably watch a movie, walk down Marina Bay to gawk at the new IR and hopefully we'll hop on the Singapore Flyer. I've been wanting to visit the Flyer for the longest time! We might even drop by the Marina Barrage. My son Drayden is in love with the place. We'll do lunch and dinner too. But most importantly, we'll have fun as a family! It's not like we don't have fun when we go out but we'll just have more fun on the 29th. Does that make sense?!

Well, you too can be a part of the Singapore Family Pledge Movement. Don't do it for yourself, but do this for your family ok? As an added bonus, there are lots of tourists attractions involved. The Hippo Tour, 4D Magix/CineBlast, Luge & Skyride, Songs of the Sea and the Singapore Flyer are just some of the award winning attractions involved this year. So go on and make that pledge and be a part of the National Family Celebrations on the 29th of May!

NATIONAL FAMILY CELEBRATIONS 2010 (NFC 2010)

Organised by the National Family Council, National Family Celebrations is an annual event which celebrates and reinforces the importance of families and family life. This year, Singaporeans are encouraged to make a personal commitment to their families by being a part of the Singapore Family Pledge Movement.

To provide opportunities for Singaporeans to follow through on the pledges to their families, there are a myriad of activities under the NFC 2010 calendar – which will interest the young, the old, and everyone in between! NFC 2010 will be held from 25 May to 26 June 2010, and this year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Celebrations. For more information on NFC 2010, visit www.nfc.sg.
