Update 26th July 2014: I am selling my SH17 account with 4.2 million power. I'm looking at US$200 for the account or the best offer. If you are keen, please leave a comment below.
Game of War: Fire Age has taken the world by storm. Millions of people from all walks of life are addicted to this game. Myself included! I can't remember the last time I've been addicted to a game. In a nutshell, it's a social game that allows you to build your city and destroy others. Well this guide is to help players better understand the game.
When you first start Game of War: Fire Age
Resources: I strongly suggest that you build 10 level 1 farm, logging camp, quarry and mine. For example, build 10 farms and then demolish them. Do the same thing for the rest. 10 of each! Doing so would allow you to complete an Empire Quest. Obviously you can do this later in the game but it will be difficult.
Hospitals: You have no idea how important hospitals are. When your city is attacked, troops that are wounded will end up in hospital. The hospital allows you to recover your injured troops. You'll need to constantly upgrade your hospital to increase the amount of troops you may recover. At present, I have 6 hospital with the highest being level 9. I can now heal 35,000 troops.
Other buildings: You will need to build Villas (good source of silver), Barracks to train troops, Marketplace so you can send resources to your team mates, a Storehouse to protect your precious resources when you are attacked, a Forge to craft and combine items, an Academy for research purposes, Gymnos for Hero XP bonus plus save your Hero should he or she be executed one day and a few more cool buildings. Once again, remember to constantly upgrade them.
Join an Alliance: I can't emphasize enough how important it is to join an alliance. You can't fight this battle alone! There are so many plus points to being with an alliance. While the bigger alliances have a minimum power requirement, there are smaller ones that are perfect for beginners. Many of these small alliances are linked to the bigger boys so do choose wisely.
Beginner Teleport: Every player receives 2 Beginner Teleports when they join the game. You can only use these teleports when your Stronghold is between levels 1 to 5. After which you will need to use a Random Teleport (500 gold) or an Advanced Teleport (1,500 gold). You can purchase these items in your Alliance store using your accumulated loyalty points too.
Use your Beginner Teleport to locate yourself near your Alliance. Do ask your leader for the coordinates prior to the teleport. Most Alliances have a strategy and have planned where they want their members to be.
An example of a hive. This is the Pandas of Honor 2 alliance.
Resources: It's up to you to decide how many of each resource buildings you will need. Currently I have 11 farms, 4 logging camps, 4 quarry and 5 mines. There are some players that have very few farms and more mines. It's important to note that your troops won't starve if you don't have any food. So decide for yourself what would work best for you. Do remember to upgrade your buildings. The more you upgrade, the more resources you will get.
I have a good number of level 10 farms and 4 of each of the rest.
Resource tiles: Resource tiles are an awesome way to get the resources you need. You will find these tiles outside your kingdom and far far away. Some alliances do not like outsiders gathering resources near them. Some even practice a 5 tile away rule. So do be very careful because if you do get attacked on a tile, some if not all your troops may be killed and you won't be able to revive them.
Oh! Do remember to CLEAR all resource tiles! We see lots of players leave small amount of resources on these tiles. If you don't clear them, the tiles won't respawn and level up. Understood?
Quests: These are 3 types of quests in this game. The Empire Quests works pretty much as a guide. It'll prompt you to upgrade buildings, research, train troops, etc. Empire Quests get harder as the game goes on. Daily Quests and Alliance Quests gives you rewards just by clicking on them. These timer run quests are too simple to not do. And if you activate your VIP, you can auto complete the Daily Quests. As they say, VIP's have their perks.
Attacking: That's the fun of the game. You get to attack other players! This is a no-brainer but I'll say it. Avoid attacking a player that is more powerful than you. You'll end up losing troops! It won't be a pretty sight when they retaliate too. You need to avoid attacking allies and alliances under the cease fire pact. You can get this information on your Alliance profile page. Failure to abide by your Alliance rules can get you booted.
Power: The more power you have, the better you are. You can earn power by completing Empire Quests, researching, leveling up your hero, building and upgrading buildings and training troops. However, you will lose power when you deconstruct a building, your hero is executed, troops are killed or sent to hospital and when traps are destroyed. When that happens, rebuild!
That's my power some weeks ago.
Research: Research strengthens and improves your city. There are 3 categories you can work on. Combat, Wall Traps and Economics. I ensure that there is a research going on at all times. Some research work takes longer so please be patient. The rewards at the end of day are awesome!
Troops: You need them to protect your city. There are 3 tiers of troops and everyone starts off with tier 1's. As the game progresses, you must research combat in order to unlock more troops. Tier 2 and 3 are much better and you will realize soon enough that your T1's just don't cut it anymore. LOL!
Correct for Rewards: Lots of players don't do this and I'm always forgetting to do it. Correct for Rewards is found under the more tab. You stand to earn rewards such as resources and points when your correction is approved by the admin. It's easy to do so please attempt to do this at least once a week.
Gold that I receive every day.
Gold Temple: Who doesn't like free gold? With the Gold Temple, friends who are playing the game can send you 10 gold a day. All you need to do is connect your Facebook account to Game of War after you build the temple. It is as easy as that! The higher the level of your temple, the more gold you can receive from your friends.
Farming Accounts: What is a farming account? It's simple actually. A farming account is your secondary account that is used solely for resource purposes. You will need to create a new account and if you have another device such as an iPad or spare iPhone, this would be great. If not, you will have to sign in and out whenever you switch accounts. You can have your farming account join your alliance so you can send resources to yourself or you could attack your farming account to get the resources you need. If you are attacking your farming account, ensure that it does not have a Storehouse and if you do have troops, they are out of the city.
Working Game of War - Fire Age Hack: There are lots of rumours flying around that some users are using hacks to gain gold. If you Google 'Game of War Hack' you will find thousands of websites that claim to offer this hack for free. There are even hundreds of videos on YouTube about this hack. For the sole purpose of this post, I tried downloading this hack to use on my farming account. Well...all of these hacks are bullshit! All of them want you to complete a survey before the download begins. And when you do complete the survey, the download doesn't work. I am very sure a working hack does not exist.
You will come across players that are extremely powerful. Most of them have spent thousands of dollars on this game. I don't understand the logic behind it but it is their money after all. My advise is to enjoy the game, make new friends and build your city slowly.
