Delicious @ Scotts Square Review

Located in the basement of Scotts Square lies a 120 seat cafe that serves delicious pasta, Malaysian delights such as Nasi Kerabu with Ayam Percik and mouth watering desserts. Delicious @ Scotts Square is Delicious’ first foray into Singapore, and follows the brand’s tremendous homegrown success in Malaysia.

The cafe is decked out in blue as you can see from the picture above. I've always found blue as the perfect dining color. It's soothing and it does magic to the human palate. It's simple. When you are relaxed, you'll enjoy and appreciate your food more. Delicious has done a great job with it's decor!

Let's get down to the food. The menu isn't loaded with a million and one dishes. Instead, it has a good selection of starters, mains and desserts. While I was tempted to go for something local like the Hainanese Chicken Chop or Nasi Kerabu with Ayam Percik, I opted for pasta. I use these two dishes to judge a restaurant. Pasta or Fish & Chips. Both dishes are relatively simple to prepare but yet many fail time and again. So how did Delicious fare? Read on to find out...

Garlic & Herb Ciabatta Bread (S$3.00). This was great! Toasted well with the perfect amount of garlic and butter.

Cajun Fried Calamari (S$10.00). While the batter was a little hard, the squid was fresh and the tartare sauce was to die for.

Frosty Lemongrass and Longan (S$7.00). Lemongrass is always refreshing so is this drink!

Aglio Olio Spaghettini with seafood (S$16.00). Unfortunately this wasn't great. It lacked flavour. Loved the fresh seafood though...

Carbonara Spaghettini (S$15.50). This was really good! It's served with oyster mushrooms, beef bacon, oregano & a generous serving of cream. It's a rich dish that leaves you wanting more!

While I won't have the Aglio Olio with seafood again, I want to try it with corned beef and chilli padi the next time. Yes you do have a choice. 5 choices to be exact. While I'm at it, I'll have the Portobello Mushroom Burger too. I love mushrooms!!! 

Overall, the service and food is good. I'll definitely be back soon!
