My Nuffnang Story

My Nuffnang Story is more like a journey than anything else. This journey started out in late 2007. I was actively looking for a company that could handle the advertising on my blog. I had previously worked with an international company, a Malaysian based company that still owes me money till this day and lastly a company owned by a Singaporean. Working with these people was like living out a freaking nightmare! The first one took forever to pay, the second didn't pay as I mentioned and the last one, well, was just full of crap!

Then came along this company called Nuffnang. I think I have built a pretty solid relationship with them over the years. I use the term relationship because that's exactly what it is.

I have met some cool people through the various Nuffnang events. The first blogger I officially met was tech blogger Joe Teh. This was at the Changi Airport Race back in 2009. Another blogger that I have met and immediately liked is Hong Peng. Both Joe and HongPeng are classic examples of people that stay true to themselves even though they have popular blogs. So boys and girls listen up! Do ever let fame change you. You'll just end up looking like a complete ass. Understood?

Earlier this year, I met a ton of awesome bloggers at the Glitterati Plus Bloggers Meet-up. I remember arriving late for this event so I sneaked into the theatre and headed right up to the highest seat at the extreme end of the row. I sat there quietly and unnoticed till Huiwen, Country Manager of Nuffnang Singapor, announced that everyone had to play this ice breaker game where teams had to find objects and carry out tasks. Next thing I know, Ming co-founder of Nuffnang, announced on the microphone "You need to take a picture with someone that has tattoos. This person is here and he is the most popular tattoo blogger". I immediately told myself "oh shit that's me" and before I knew it, I was surrounded by groups! It was at this event that I met bloggers like Nadiah. It was good fun and I'll do it again in a heartbeat!

My Nuffnang Story doesn't just end there. I have had the privilege of writing many cool advertorials, attending the funkiest of events and I even went to Disneyland Hong Kong. I know I am missing out something here but I just can't put my finger around it. Damn it!!!

Anyhow come 16th of December 2011, 500 bloggers from around the Asia-Pacific region will flock to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 2011 in Putrajaya Marriott. Brought to you by Volkswagen Malaysia and Putrajaya Marriott., the Awards aims to not only honour the region's best bloggers, but also to bring together blogger communities from across Asia-Pacific.

I don't know if I am in the running for Best Lifestyle Blog at the awards. If I am, it will be fantastic but if I'm not, I will still be in Kuala Lumpur to show big love to Nuffnang and of course to support my fellow bloggers. You too can attend the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 2011.

So there you have it. This has been my Nuffnang story. There's more to tell but I'll save that for another time. Enjoy the remainder of your public holiday folks!
