The Preliminary Draw for 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil took place at the Marina da Gloria in Rio de Janeiro yesterday. As you can see from the image below, Singapore has been placed in Asia's Group A.

Singapore will go against Asia's elite People's Republic of China, Jordan and Iraq. Based on FIFA rankings, China is at 73rd, Jordan is 91st, Iraq is 108th followed by Singapore at 131st. On paper, round three matches will take place between 2nd September 2011 to 29th February 2012. The five group winners and runners-up will advance to round four.

This is the second time in history that we've made it to the Preliminary Draw so hopefully our boys will be ready for the fight of their lives! The country is behind you and I'm sure you'll do us proud no matter win, lose or draw. Go Lions Go!!!
