If you love wanton mee (wanton noodles if you like) then you should check out Da Jie Famous Wanton Noodles at Jalan Besar. I've loved wanton mee since I was a kid so the twenty minutes Gerry and I took to find our way to Sam Leong Road was worth it. Wanna hear something funny? Before we took the bus down, Gerry bought a street directory from the nearby convenient store but we still got lost!!!! That's exactly what happens when two drunkards are out together. LOL!
Ok back to the Wanton-Mania! The beautiful thing about Da Jie Famous Wanton Noodles is that they do everything themselves. I'm talking about the char siew (barbecued pork), making the wanton from scratch to braising the chicken feet. Though they don't make their own noodles, their supplier makes it according to their specification. This means you won't find noodles with the same texture anywhere else! I guess this paragraph is testament to why they've been in business for eight years and counting!

This is what I'm raving about!! The tiny bits of pork lard gave me multiple food-gasms!!

Braised pork ribs. Tender & yummy!

I'm a sucker for mushrooms any day!

Deep fried wanton! I love love loooove this! It goes really well with beer too!
