The day I ran with the Youth Olympic Flame

After weeks of anticipation, Saturday came and went in a flash! As weird as this sounds, I had butterflies in my stomach the morning I woke up for the Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame (JYOF). Nobody other than myself knows how much doing this meant. I probably have a handful of highlights in my life and this definitely one of them.

I believe I speak for the rest of the torchbearers from the second half of Day One when I say we were blown away by the sights we saw in Bishan from the JYOF bus. The reception the torchbearers received in Bishan was just fantastic! The streets were packed with residents who came out in full force to witness history in the making.

The torchbearer who I was supposed to pass the torch to didn't make it for some unknown reason so I ran 200 meters instead of a hundred. That made the day all the more memorable.

I would like to thank the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) for giving me this once in a life time opportunity. I'll also like to thank the awesome volunteer hosts that took great care of us. You guys totally rock! I'm never gonna forget the 7th of August! Ever!
