Nirwana Gardens Resort

Last Saturday morning, eight of us traveled to Bintan, Indonesia for a short getaway. This was a much needed break considering the last time I took a holiday was in 2007. This holiday was also the first with my son Drayden. So yeah, it was awesome!

We got to the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal bright and early and within an hour, we were on the ferry to paradise. It sure is fun to have company when you're out at sea. My buddy Rasied kept asking me if I needed a life jacket. If you don't know by now, I CAN'T SWIM!!! Anyhow, it took just under an hour to get to Bintan from Singapore. That's great when you have a two year old that can't keep still. Heh!

The minute we arrived at Nirwana Resort Hotel, we were treated like V.I.P's. The service was impeccable and the resort is beautiful. I loved our rooms, the many restaurants, the scenery, wildlife, etc... If you are ever a guest with Nirwana Gardens, be sure to check out the ZOOM Band fronted by Apip Sutardi. They have an impressive repertoire and most importantly, they sound outstanding! Thanks to a constant flow of Heineken, Tequila shots and Apip, I sang 'No Woman No Cry' on stage with the band.

I would like to thank Kang Apit and the staff of Nirwana for the hospitality they showed throughout the trip. I have always had great respect for the service industry in Indonesia and once again, I've walked away impressed.

Well ladies and gentlemen, here are some pictures I took using my Sony a230.
