Tattoo City

It’s 9.05am Singapore time as I write this post. Sure looks like it’s gonna be a beautiful day with lots of rain. If the weather forecast is anything to go by, thunderstorms are expected right up to Tuesday. Get ready that cup of cocoa and a bunch of DVD’s or have hot pumping sex. Either way, enjoy the weekend!

I hope you enjoyed my previous post ‘a to z’. I’m trying to find new ways to reach out to the general public. That post was one of the many alternatives that I plan to use. I’m not here to convince you to get inked. I’ll never ever do that. Instead, I’m trying real hard to convince you that tattoos are ok and should be accepted in society. The day that happens, I'll keep my mouth shut.

Tattoo City – A Singapore Story is happening at The Singapore Art House from now till the 14 September. Admission is FREE. Here’s the Tattoo City write-up…

Tattoo City – A Singapore Story by Alex Chua is a photographic display of the local tattoo scene. The last ten or so years have shown that tattoos are no longer seen as an association to triads or gangs but rather a form of self-expression and art. Some tattoos are designed for specific events or people in mind, thus making the tattoos very special and significant to the person with the tattoo. The stories, accompanying the photographs, bring out the essence and significance of the tattoos and most important of all, the people.

Awesome stuff!! I reckon I’ll head down with Ant and Don next week. You’ll welcome to tag along if you’re free. You know the saying, the more the f@#king merrier…

The cast of Heroes are in town and will be at Vivocity later today. I watched every single episode in season 1 and I’m waiting anxiously for season 2. Heroes is packed with an awesome cast and the characters are believable to a certain extend. Any show where the viewer can relate to a character has got its money made.

Has anyone heard of Scar Tattoing? If you thought Branding was bad, this is worse! Scar Tattooing is a new form of body art which by far, is the most painful that I have encountered. I’ll never have the balls to try this. Normally I would post pictures on this blog. Today will be a little different. Here’s the link (click here) to the website. Let me warn you that this isn’t for the faint hearted. The images may be considered gruesome to some. If you’re gonna visit the link, come on back here and leave a comment below after you’re done. I’ll like to know what you think.

My close friends and family have been extremely supportive on the TV show that I’m trying to develop and host. A couple of people to my knowledge have seen the episode guide and have given encouraging feedback. Thank you for that. At the end of the day, you need people to believe in your product. It’s also great that I have an awesome production company that’s backing me up. As for now, we’re waiting for Discovery to throw out the invites for pitches. If you know someone from Discovery that can speed up the process, your help will very much be appreciated.

For obvious reasons, I will not disclose information about this project on my blog. What I can say is that it isn’t anything like Miami Ink. This project is educational and will cater to the masses.

I’m gonna get busy on another written assignment. Have a rocking weekend and do check out this blog tomorrow for a brand new look and a brand new URL! Peace out!
